Pauline Bern is a contemporary New Zealand jeweller whose innovative practice have earned her some of the leading accolades of the jewellery community. She has received the 2003 Creative New Zealand Craft / Object Residency Grant, and in 2000 the David Thomas Foundation Gold Award in Association with the Dowse Art Museum.
Bern is currently working as a tutor in the jewellery department of UNITEC School of design. Her current work explores notions of domesticity, incorporating elements of the domestic environment into jewellery forms. In her work whisks and pot scrubs become intriguing pieces of jewellery, and elements of beauty amongst the everyday are highlighted.
